Abstract


The fragment of Rosa’s Bailly correspondence with the management of Library Maria Curie-Sklodowska University from 1957 to 1971 is an interesting example of contacts, which established the Library in the first decades of existence. This correspondence is a memoir. In a letter to the director Tadeusz Smołka of 27 December 1967, Rosa Bailly recalls – in a reflective and emotional way – Maria Curie-Sklodowska. She appreciates by an album dedicated to the Polish scientist, writes about staying in Lublin, living in Pau and the work on a book about Warsaw. This letter has stimulated not only the memories of the French activist, Director of the Library MCSU, but also has been an attempt to restore mutual contacts of Rosa with the Library.
