Lubelski Rocznik Pedagogiczny (Lublin Pedagogical Yearbook) has been published continuously since 1963. Its first Editor in Chief was the distinguished educator Professor Konstanty Lech. In its early years, the journal was issued with the support of the School District Board in Lublin and the UMCS Cooperation Committee, and published by Wydawnictwo Lubelskie. Since Volume 15 (1993), Lubelski Rocznik Pedagogiczny has been published by Maria Curie Skłodowska University and the Institute of Pedagogy. The journal is indexed in CEJSH, ERIH PLUS, CEEOL, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and ICI Journals Master List (ICV 2024 = 100). Four issues are published annually, featuring studies presenting research in pedagogy as well as interdisciplinary projects. The journal aims to promote scholarly exchange of ideas, research approaches and findings related to contemporary pedagogical issues, education, and its multidimensional functions and determinants. Lubelski Rocznik Pedagogiczny publishes original research articles and review papers, with particular emphasis on contributions that present innovative theoretical and methodological perspectives. The journal supports academic dialogue among researchers representing diverse backgrounds and disciplines, and disseminates studies addressing current educational and social needs.
A key element of the journal’s mission is the promotion of social inclusion of individuals with diverse developmental, educational and life related needs. Published articles highlight contemporary trends in education, rehabilitation, resocialisation and social support, taking into account their theoretical foundations and possibilities for practical implementation. The journal is open to research on marginalisation and exclusion arising from, among other factors, disability, gender, cultural background or social circumstances. The journal particularly values articles that offer significant scholarly contributions, methodological innovation, novel practices and rigorous empirical research grounded in methodological reflexivity and critical analysis of educational and social practices.
Since 2024, all articles published in Lubelski Rocznik Pedagogiczny (Lublin Pedagogical Yearbook) have been issued exclusively in English. Since 2021, the journal has been published solely in electronic form and operates under an open access model.
Lubelski Rocznik Pedagogiczny (LRP) is included on the list of academic journals evaluated by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science. Authors receive 70 points for publications in LRP.
