Beate Sommerfeld is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Modern Languages of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with habilitation in humanities in the field if literary studies; head of the Department of Translatology and of the Department of Austrian Literature and Culture at the Institute of German Philology, Adam Mickiewicz University. Her research interests include Austrian avant-garde, word and image studies, ekphrasis, media anthropology, new materialism and translation studies. She is the organizer of international conferences in the field of literary and translation studies (2008, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2023).
