Paweł Matyaszewski, professor of French literature, director of the Department of Romance Cultures and Literatures at the Institute of Literary Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland). Historian of the literature and ideas of the French Enlightenment. His main interests are the novel and political, religious and philosophical thought in 18th century France. His recent research work focuses primarily on the work and biography of Montesquieu, as on the history of the revolutionary calendar of 1793.
