Associate Professor of Communication and Journalism at the University of Messina. Over the years, he has explored various aspects of the sociology of communication, with particular emphasis on the dynamics and techniques of political and public communication as well as social communication. In 1999, he began to study the interactions between childhood, teenagers, and new technologies and he published several papers and volumes devoted to the evolution of their communication dynamics connected with the development of new media and technological platforms. Currently, his main research area is focused on social media dynamics, the proliferation of fake news and disinformation, and their impact on social relationships and public opinion construction processes.
