Marta Kania graduated in Archaeology and Cultural Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She holds PhD in Humanities from the Faculty of History and is a Professor of political science at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Adjunct in the Latin American Department of the Institute of American Studies and the Polish Diaspora at the Jagiellonian University. Her research focuses on heritage and ethnopolitics studies in Latin America, as well as the issues of cultural rights in Latin America. Author of books: "Pre-Columbian image of Peru. The role of archaeology and Inca heritage in the formation of Peruvian national identity" (Kraków 2010); "Machupicchu. Between Archaeology and Politics" (Kraków 2013); „Qhapaq Ñan Project. Challenges of a new model of politics toward indigenous peoples' cultural heritage (Kraków 2019).
