Bułgaria oczami Marijana Alkovicia i Franjo Horwata Kiša

Artykuł omawia wrażenia Marijana Alkovicia (1879–1953) i Franjo Horvata-Kiša (1876–1924) z ich wizyty w Bułgarii w przededniu pierwszej wojny światowej, na tle dynamicznych zmian w postawach społecznych, psychologicznych i politycznych zarówno jednostki, jak i różnych wspólnot narodowych. Ich dzienniki podróży, oba opublikowane w 1911 r., są interpretowane jako konstruowanie złożonego labiryntu dialogów z innością. Autorzy umieszczają swoje obserwacje w kontekście różnych kulturowo-historycznych, społeczno-politycznych, religijnych i etnicznych wzorców społecznych. Takie wrażenia, wraz ze słowianofilskim patosem, ujawniają również zaktualizowaną narrację autora o epoce, kartografię przestrzeni chorwackiej, bułgarskiej i południowosłowiańskiej. Szczególny nacisk położono na postać podróżnika, który zyskał coraz większą różnorakość, łącząc role pisarza, publicysty, badacza i polityka.
