Security Situation in Afghanistan after the ISAF Mission

Łukasz Jureńczyk

Abstract

The article concerns the main aspects of the security situation in Afghanistan after the completion of the ISAF operation. In the paper, the author presents the issues related to the victims of fighting and assassinations, control of the territory of Afghanistan, the condition of Afghan security forces and the actions of the Afghan and U.S. authorities taken to improve the security in the state. The instability of Afghanistan is confirmed by the victims of constant fights and attacks. The Afghan security forces are not able to maintain the state security, therefore, it is necessary to deploy international forces in Afghanistan. The peace initiatives proposed by the Afghan government in the near future will not bring a breakthrough, because the armed opposition still believes in the possibility of full victory.
