In order to prevent it from becoming an arena of conflict, mostly because of the work done by The Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), a number of treaties regulation international space law were created. The main goal of the provisions in the treaties was to creation of legal framework for peaceful usage of outer space to benefit mankind.
