Grzegorz Jawor (born 1960) – graduated in History from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. In 1984 he became an assistant-intern at the School of History at UMCS. In 1989 he received his PhD and in 2000 he became an Assistant Professor. The title of a Professor of the Humanities was granted to him in 2014. He is an Associate Professor at UMCS and a Director of the Department of the History of Medieval Poland and Economic History, and an Associate Director of the School of History UMCS. He specialises in the history of medieval Poland, particularly in the history of Polish countryside at the turn of the Middle Ages and modern times. He is interested in the history of the Wallachian settlement in the Polish Carpathian Mountains and the editions of historical sources.
