Piotr Guzowski – born 1975, PhD with habilitation, works in the Department of History of Demographic, Economic and Religious Structures at the University of Białystok. Secretary of the Centre for the Study of Social and Economic Structures of Pre-Modern Central and Eastern Europe, which operates there. In 2017–2018 he also worked at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Since 2016, he has been deputy editor-in-chief of „Rocznik Dziejów Społecznych i Gospodarczych”. His research focuses on the economy and society of the Crown and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the Middle Ages and modern times. He has dealt with the subject of the development and functioning of the manor and peasant economy, the economic role of religious institutions, and the demography of the noble state. In 2008, he published a book entitled Chłopi i pieniądze na przełomie średniowiecza i czasów nowożytnych. In 2020, for his book Rodzina szlachecka w Polsce przedrozbiorowej. Studium demograficzne, he received the Stefan Krzysztof Kuczyński Award.
