A Long-term Archiving of Digital Resources

Abstract

A long term protection of digital resources is a fundamental problem for a developing informational society, which is characterised by an increasing pace of generating new informational resources. Also the libraries, as archiving institutions, making the traditional as well as the digital documents available, are obliged to consistent actions towards the archiving of the electronic resources, but also their meta-data. This article aims at analysing the phenomenon of a long-term archiving of libraries’ digital resources, with using the professional Rosetta software by Ex Libris, more widely unknown to the Polish environment.
