Paweł Matyaszewski is Professor of Literature and Head of the Department of Romance Literatures and Culture at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. He is a specialist in the history of French literature of the Enlightenment. He is primarily interested in the political thought and philosophy of the period. His recent work focuses mainly on the biography and works of Montesquieu, as well as on the history of the French republican calendar of 1793.
