Agnieszka Gabryś

Abstract

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly changed the functioning of people around the world, one facet of such modifications was higher education. In addition to the classic stressors, there were new challenges that students coped with.

Research Aim: This research aims to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and psychological well-being exploring the moderating effect of perceived positive changes in functioning in students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Method: The diagnostic survey and questionnaire technique were used. Main outcome measures, the General Self-Efficacy Scale, Scale of Positive Changes in Student Functioning in the COVID-19 Pandemic, and Psychological Well-Being Scale were used.

Results: Significant and positive correlations were found between included variables. The obtained results show that the relationship between self-efficacy and psychological well-being are moderating by perceived positive changes in functioning in students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Conclusion: The findings presented in the study provide an important rationale to pay special attention to the psychological well-being of students during the COVID-19 pandemic and its direct and indirect determinants.
