Feederism: Socio-Cultural Contexts of Sexual Preferences and Practises
Abstract
The article concerns peculiar sexual preferences and practices labeled as feederism. The aim of the article is to present the specifics of this little known phenomenon in contemporary socio-cultural conditions. Feederism is depicted in the context of contemporary meanings and norms related to body, food, attractiveness and identity. The phenomenon is illustrated by a qualitative analysis of the content of the blog plussize24.pl. The conclusions concerning the treatment of feederism as an opposition to the meanings of a dominant culture are accompanied by paying attention to those aspects of feederism that paradoxically support these meanings.
